Since we don’t confine ourselves to a specific category, this freedom allows us to stay agile and open to new possibilities. By not fitting neatly into any one box, we’re able to explore and innovate across the full spectrum of digital media. We’ve embraced this fluid identity, using it as a driving force to push boundaries and approach each project from a fresh perspective. In a constantly evolving industry, our undefined category has become our greatest asset.

Everything started with the launch of the iPhone 3G in Hungary. On the few websites optimized for mobile, there were no advertisements. After a couple of months, there were, and we had already produced three mobile campaigns that year. In that year, Gabor Brindza established Madhouse, after MAD (for Mobile Advertising), an idea that personified the crazy new mobile era. We even began after-work parties to celebrate the new craze.

Madhouse was acquired by an investment company. The next two years saw Madhouse offices established in Romania, Czechia and Slovakia. Glorious years had come and we were growing, with 20+ staff. However, we have learnt from mistakes; this was difficult to manage, so we had to close the foreign offices.

A fresh start. We left mobile advertising and embraced advertising on automated platforms with programmatic ads. Snapchat soon arrived and Pinterest proved suitable as a paid social ad. It was a breaking point, but in a good way. We stopped working with traditional publishers and embraced the growing variety of platforms - TikTok, Viber, Spotify, Tinder, Waze, Reddit, Twitch, Vinted. Madhouse became one of the largest independent players in digital advertising in the Central and Eastern European region.

2024 brings a new year and a new identity. In the last couple of years, we've navigated through ups and downs, experiencing growth and challenges. Despite it all, here we stand — evolved, resilient, and more determined than ever. Embracing a renewed brand identity, we look forward to creating exciting digital campaigns that reflect our transformative journey.
We have to acknowledge that these 14 years have come full circle. We began with mobile advertising, and now we are full professionals in areas like advanced TV. One thing connects it all: innovation – being the first to understand and embrace the new. We don’t plan on stopping our exploration of new opportunities in the coming years either.
Meet Gábor Brindza, Madhouse founder and CEO
A digital media veteran with 20 years of experience, Gabor has worked at top agencies like Dentsu (formerly Kirowski) and Mediacom. He started as a copywriting intern (at Publicis) but found he wasn’t creative enough for that path. In media planning, he realized he was too creative for the traditional, data-driven approach. Now, he blends innovation with data, always pushing boundaries while honing his leadership skills.
Individually we’re great, but as a team we’re unstoppable.
